Who we are
Neighbours in nearby streets joined together in 2007 under the name Vale Residents. Being Londoners, and still only minutes from London Bridge, we feel we’ve escaped the hurly burly when we get here. But as in all cities, it is quite hard to get acquainted so when our Association was formed we said we’d meet, not just across back-garden fences or in the musical chairs of parking, but to cooperate as a community, share skills and resources and make friends, whatever age we are.
More About the VRA
What we do
We have held talks, street parties, kids’ parties, garden parties, a jumble sale, fundraising gig, photography competition and in 2012 we built and planted the Physic Garden at Dulwich Hospital.
From the outset the VRA was intended to serve as both federation and forum to flag up issues that affect our neighbourhood and to call for action.
See News and Views.
There are over 240 households in the Vale. All are welcome to attend the Association’s open meetings. These are held informally monthly, often in the Cherry Tree on Grove Vale. See the list of dates for your diary.
Membership is open to any tenant or resident whose home is here. Contact link. Junior members are also welcome. We ask for an email address so that we can send reminders about events. If you don’t have an email address, drop a note to the present Committee c/o Chair of VRA. See our contact page for details.
Membership has been free for 7 years thanks to grants from Dulwich Community Council.
